Mawedge. Mawedge is what bwings us...twogetha...today. Mawedge that bwessed awangement...and in this case that marriage was between Bridget O'Reiley and Arthur Vanhorn. There story was not too out of the ordinary. Met in college, fell in love. And then they got married. Typical chain of events really. After marriage they planned on children. She wanted lots, he only wanted a few, but either way they both knew that was their future. To make babies. They started trying immediately and it was only then that their story swung from the norm. As much as they tried, no babies were being made. Eight years into the marriage they turned to fertility drugs and it was then, finally, that they got pregnant with their son. He was born and the Vanhorns accepted that this would be their only child, their only bit of maternal and paternal pleasure. So when, a few years later, Bridget's stomach flu turned out to be another baby they were doubly shocked. This time it was a girl and they felt truly blessed to have their family. Until once more another miracle popped up, a final child. By then they were older, much older than they'd intended to be with an infant, and so they chose to end these miracles and not have any more children.

Eleanor Vanhorn was the middle child of the clan, and named after her maternal grandmother, the first of her family to immigrate to the United States from Ireland. A name like that was a mouthful for the young girl and quickly it was adopted that she be called simply Ellie. The name suited her, short, sweet, to the point, unassuming, and everyone agreed it was the perfect name for the little girl. She was a resilient little bugger, the kind who constantly chased her brother, fell, got back up and kept running. Her mother tried for dresses and ballet but Ellie wouldn't have it. She liked to be active and hated dresses, though whenever her mother asked nicely she'd give in.

As is often the case with being the only sister, Ellie grew up as a tomboy. She loved to run and play and soon found her true love when her parents signed her up for Rec Soccer. She was a natural and on the field the slightly clumsy girl found her stride. As she got older she got more competitive and it got to the point where she trained almost constantly. She was eager for school so she could play on their teams and was quickly the star player. School teams for one of the seasons, challenge teams in the others. She played hard, year round with one goal in mind. To eventually play for the US Women's Soccer Team.

With the founding of the WPS she began to grow more excited. Now an actual career is soccer was possible. The problem was, soccer? Was basically the only thing that Ellie was able to be serious about. And in the off-season, though she'd work out and train, she also began to party a little bit too much. Though she was only a sophomore she began to get in trouble for drinking too much and staying out too late. It was then that her parents decided the best thing for her was to go to Boarding School.

She was angry, really angry. But they promised her she could still play soccer and that it was actually a good thing in that sense. The school would give her some visibility and so she decided to deal with it. Her Junior year was her first at Arbor Mountain School and so far she's actually really enjoying it. She knows that staying out of trouble is in her best interest but she does miss the party life.
